Windmill Studios

Windmill Studios is a unique accommodation complex, amphitheatrically built in Livadi, Kythira, combining history with authentic traditional architecture. At its heart stands an impressive 17th-century windmill, originally constructed for grinding grain using the power of the wind. Today, fully restored with great care and attention to detail, it remains a living part of the island’s cultural heritage.

Its privileged location, on a hilltop in the center of the island and just 4 km from Chora, offers easy access to the most beautiful beaches of Kythira, as well as breathtaking panoramic views over the wider area of Livadi.

The windmill extends over three levels. On the ground floor, there is a cozy living room with a kitchen, while each of the upper floors features a bedroom with a double bed and a private bathroom, accommodating up to four guests. Staying in this unique structure offers a truly special experience, transporting visitors to another era.

The complex is complemented by two traditional houses, Miller’s House 1 and Miller’s House 2, which in the past served as the miller’s residence and the storage area for the business, respectively. Today, they have been transformed into comfortable and tastefully designed apartments, each featuring one bedroom with a double bed, a living room with two built-in single beds, a fireplace, television, private bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchenette. They can accommodate two to four guests and are ideal for both family vacations and romantic getaways.

Between the two houses, the spacious covered veranda marks the spot where a small room once stood, used for the temporary stay of villagers who brought their goods for grinding—a detail that keeps the authentic story of the mill alive.

The outdoor areas of the complex have been designed with respect for Kythira’s traditional architecture, offering tranquility, privacy, and comfort. Independent outdoor and semi-outdoor spaces create the perfect setting for relaxation.
